OnFire is no longer just a mobile app. With the new macOS desktop app, you get the same messaging, calling, task management, and community features you rely on — right on your Mac. Built from the same codebase as the iOS app, it feels familiar from the first click while taking full advantage of the desktop.
💻 Why Desktop?
Many of our users spend their workday on a Mac. Switching to the phone for every message, call, or task disrupts focus. The macOS app keeps OnFire open alongside your other tools — no context switching, no missed messages.

🔄 Seamless Sync
Everything stays in sync across your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac. Start a conversation on your phone, continue it on your Mac. Create a task on your desktop, check it off from your wrist. The local-first architecture means your data is always available — even offline.
🔐 Native Security
The macOS app uses your Mac's native security features. Sign in with Touch ID on supported MacBooks, store credentials in the macOS Keychain, and authenticate with passkeys — the same passwordless login you use on iOS.
Security features
- ▶ Touch ID — Biometric authentication on supported Macs
- ▶ Keychain Integration — Credentials stored securely in macOS Keychain
- ▶ Passkey Support — Passwordless login synced via iCloud Keychain
- ▶ Encrypted Database — Local data encrypted with SQLCipher
🖥️ Desktop-First UX
While the app shares its codebase with iOS, the layout adapts to the desktop. Wider content areas, resizable windows (minimum 900x600), sidebar navigation, and hover states that feel right at home on macOS. No blown-up phone UI — a genuine desktop experience.
🚀 Requirements & Availability
The macOS app requires macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later. It runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The app is free for all OnFire users and will be available on the Mac App Store.
