Live Gigs Guardian Terms

For parents and guardians who book a live 1:1 video lesson for their child on OnFire Live Gigs.

Version 2026-10-18 Last updated: 18 October 2026

In short: only you, an adult parent or guardian, can book a lesson for your child, and you stay on camera for the whole session. Every session is recorded for safety, kept privately and deleted after 30 days unless a report is open. Tutors who teach children are identity-verified and background-checked. If you save a child profile, only you and the tutor you choose see it, the tutor only around the session, and you can delete it at any time.

1. About These Terms

These Live Gigs Guardian Terms (the "Guardian Terms") apply when you book a Live Gigs lesson for a child. In them, "you" means the adult who books, "your child" means the child the lesson is for, "tutor" means the teacher, tutor or coach who gives the lesson, and "we", "us" and "OnFire" mean OnFire Messenger Ltd. (Ireland, company number 796932) if you are in the European Economic Area, or OnFire Messenger Inc. (Delaware) if you are in the United States.

They add to, and do not replace, the OnFire Terms of Service (United States or Europe), the Privacy Policy (United States or Europe), the Child Safety Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Community Guidelines. The tutor's obligations are in the Live Gigs Seller Terms.

Acceptance. You accept these Guardian Terms when you book a lesson for a child, by ticking the confirmation that names this version (2026-10-18). If you save a child profile, you also tick a separate consent for the profile. We record the version you accepted, what you consented to, and when.

2. Who Can Book for a Child

  • • You must be at least 18 and have confirmed a date of birth on your OnFire account that shows this.
  • • You must be the child's parent or legal guardian. Other adults, such as grandparents, carers or babysitters, cannot book a lesson for a child.
  • • The child must be under 18. Children never have a Live Gigs account and cannot book or pay.
  • • You must have a payment method saved on your account before you search.

3. Staying on Camera

  • • You confirm that you will stay on camera, in the same room as your child, for the whole session, including the free trial.
  • • If you leave the camera, the tutor can press "Guardian left the camera". The tutor can end the session at once or give you 60 seconds to come back; if you do not, the session ends.
  • • A session that ends because you were absent is treated as ended by you: before payment nothing is charged; during a paid lesson the tutor is paid for the time that passed, and never less than the minimum charge.
  • • Repeated absence can lead to you losing the ability to book children's sessions.

4. Recordings

Every Live Gigs session is recorded, including the free trial and children's sessions.

The recording includes everyone on camera — your child, you and the tutor. You cannot book a session without recording. If recording fails, the session carries on.

  • • Why. For safety, to handle reports and moderation, and to resolve payment disputes.
  • • Where and who. Recordings are stored privately, never at a public address. Only authorised OnFire staff can open them, and each access is logged. They are not shared with you or the tutor.
  • • How long. 30 days after the session, then deleted — except that a recording is kept while a report, dispute or review about that session is open, or longer where the law requires it.
  • • Your own recordings. Neither you nor the tutor may record, screenshot or stream a session by any other means.

5. The Child Profile

You can save a profile for your child so you do not have to re-enter it each time. It is optional: you can book without one. It holds:

  • • first name;
  • • age band: 3–5, 6–8, 9–11, 12–14 or 15–17 (we never ask for an exact age or a date of birth);
  • • a photo, if you add one;
  • • gender: boy, girl or prefer not to say;
  • • interests; and
  • • a note for the tutor, up to 300 characters. Contact details (phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, links) are not allowed and are rejected.

What you agree to about its content. You confirm that what you enter is about your own child and is accurate. Do not upload a photo that shows anyone else, shows your child undressed, or reveals where your child lives or goes to school, and do not put anything in the note that you would not want a tutor to read. Please do not include health, medical or school details.

6. Who Sees What

We never sell your child's information, never use it for advertising, and never show the profile publicly or to other users. Tutors must use it only to give the lesson and must not keep copies of it.

7. Photos and Safety Checks

  • • Before we store a photo, we re-encode it and remove its metadata, including location (GPS) and device information.
  • • Photos are stored privately (Cloudflare R2), never at a public address, and are shown to the tutor only after our safety team has approved them, through private links that expire after 5 minutes, during the window in section 6. We store a small copy (at most 512 × 512 pixels), not your original.
  • • Every photo is reviewed by our safety team before any tutor can see it, and stays hidden from tutors until then. A photo that is not approved is not used and is deleted after 90 days. We do not currently use an automated model or a database of known abuse images to check photos.
  • • We do not use your child's photo for face recognition, advertising or training AI.
  • • If a photo appears to be child sexual abuse material, we preserve it and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other authorities as the law requires, and we restrict the account. We are not allowed to tell you when such a report is made.

8. How Long We Keep It and How to Delete It

  • • Delete it yourself, any time. In Live Gigs, open your child's profile and choose Delete. The photo is deleted with it.
  • • Automatically. We delete a child profile when you delete your OnFire account, when it has not been used for 365 days, or when your child turns 18 (three years after the age band was last set to 15–17), whichever comes first. Deleting or deactivating your account deletes your child profiles at once.
  • • The first name on a request is deleted 30 days after the request closes, whether or not you saved a profile.
  • • Recordings follow section 4.
  • • What we must keep. Evidence of suspected child sexual abuse, and records of a report that is still open, are kept for as long as the law or the case requires.

10. Safety Rules and Reporting

  • • Tutors who teach children must hold an approved background check, renewed every year, on top of identity verification. Tutors must not contact your child outside a session.
  • • You must not ask the tutor, or let your child ask the tutor, to continue lessons or chat outside OnFire.
  • • You can report the tutor at any time — before, during or after the session, and from your history. In a child's session the report opens on the child or minor safety category. That report ends the session at once, keeps the recording until the case closes, suspends the tutor from children's sessions until it has been reviewed (our support team reviews these reports within 24 hours) and, for a paid session, holds the tutor's payment.
  • • The tutor is not told who reported them.
  • • If your child is in immediate danger, contact the police first. See the Child Safety Policy for other ways to report.

11. Booking and Payment

Booking, the free 5-minute trial, payment, the minimum charge, extensions and refunds work the same for a child's lesson as for any other Live Gigs lesson; you pay as the buyer. The lesson price and service fee are shown to you in Live Gigs before you pay.

12. Your Rights

You can exercise privacy rights for yourself and, as parent or guardian, for your child: to see the information we hold, have it corrected or deleted, ask for the log of who opened your child's profile, or ask for a copy of a recording while it still exists. Email [email protected]. In Europe you can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie) or your local supervisory authority. A copy of a recording is provided with the tutor's face blurred.

13. Changes to These Terms

Each version of these Guardian Terms has a version identifier, shown at the top of this page; the current version is 2026-10-18. If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app and ask you to accept the new version before your next child's booking. Changes do not affect sessions already booked.
